Mood
Whether you’re aware of it or not, your thoughts and emotions play a major role in your overall health and daily life. The good days leave you on an emotional high, feeling like you’re on top of the world, an unstoppable machine capable of accomplishing anything. But it’s inevitable that eventually those will be followed by the bad days. The kind of day when no matter what happens, you’re just not happy. Moreover, it can be a day full of stress, anxiety, feeling like a failure and lacking motivation for absolutely anything.
It’s important to be aware of both extremes - they happen to everyone, and are a part of the human experience. Nothing great can stay forever, but the same goes for the bad - there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. While there may not be a way to prevent those bad things from happening entirely, there are certainly ways to minimize both their frequency and severity.
Your Perception Is Your Reality
We truly believe that in life, what you put into it is what you get out; this goes for both actions as well as mindset. If you approach every day with a negative attitude, you will face negatives: in your job, your family, your personal development. It feels like an avalanche: one small problem spirals into another, and suddenly you feel like the entire thing is crashing around you. In a moment like this, you may feel utterly helpless. You’re sick of it. Never living on your own terms, never feeling like you’re getting what you deserve. And while it very well may not be, if you’re approaching it with a victim mentality, you’ll be treated like one.
There is scientific data to back up this type of thinking. Studies show that your brain releases chemicals which engage when faced with distress: for example, opioids are released to offset distress, but this in turn can lower your immune system, negatively affecting your physical health. The more days you spend like this, the worse it can get, and hormones such as cortisol can rise, leaving you feeling isolated, depressive, and like you’re under all the stress in the world.
Positive Thinking Habits
As we’ve said, although we can’t avoid bad moods entirely, there are plenty of simple ways to shake them off when you become aware of them creeping up on you. One of the main tools is distraction, whether that’s with exercise, a hobby, or spending time with loved ones. When your brain is highly stimulated, it can’t spare time or energy to worry about something else. Imagine you’re at work and starting to stress about some approaching deadlines. Instead of staying at your desk, staring into that empty document or filled up bullet-point list, take a step outside, take a stroll in the sun and fresh air and recollect. You’re capable of doing everything that is required of you, you’re a skilled and hardworking person with goals that you will reach. This is just a bump in the road, and this journey is full of them. But by being aware of the difficulties that will come along your way, you can mentally prepare and be ready when they do arrive.
Self-Care and Supplementation
There are also many ways to be proactive about your general wellbeing. By surrounding yourself with people who you feel comfortable expressing your feelings with, you don’t have to worry about bottling up during stressful times. Living a balanced life of dealing with problems head on and talking about them is key when it comes to entering each day with a fresh mind, positive attitude and hope for the best. As with other aspects of mental and physical health we mentioned in other blogs, exercise is a great way to destress and boost your mood. When you engage in physical activity, your body will release dopamine, the body’s pleasure hormone. By consistently sustaining your body with healthy food, activity and de-stress methods (such as massage, yoga, or even listening to music) you can add a whole lot of positive energy towards your mindset.
In addition to diet, supplementation with proper products can be that extra step towards optimal performance. Our brain is an insanely complex machine, and science on compounds that can drastically improve its efficacy has been extremely interesting to say the least. There have been dozens of ingredients found in performance enhancing supplements that can possibly improve in memory and learning enhancement, synthesis of cell-membrane components, and attention span to just name a few. While the data on this is still being heavily researched, it can certainly be worth trying a reputably sourced and produced product, such as nootropics.
We felt that this industry was lacking such products, or at the least ones that combined minerals, vitamins and compounds in an effective, tasty way that could actually make a positive impact on your life. While we don’t claim these are miracle supplements that will utterly transform your attitude, they can be a step in the right direction. If you want to crush it in life, you have to imagine that happening in your mind. And we sure love visualizing this kind of a life. Ready to join us?
